Seeing a little D.C.
While in DC for the Ecclesia National Gathering, I finally got to slow down and actually see DC (if only for a couple of hours), as opposed to the last time I was there when I had to pick up a friend who lived just a couple of blocks from the White House. DC is a beautiful city, culturally rich and full of carefully detailed architecture. When we first arrived, we drove through (accidentally
) a very nice upscale neighborhood in which any of the houses I’ve seen in Richmond pale in comparison to.
During one of the longer conference breaks, a few of us decided to go a coffee shop. Daniel thought it would be a cool idea to visit the Potter House, a book store and coffee shop run by the Church of the Savior as a mission. On the way their, we got to see a lot of the city. And since the person responsible for the directions left said directions in the trunk of the car, leaving it up to memory to get where we were going, we got to see even more of the city. Fortunately, we had an unbelievable driver who commanded the streets with poise, precision, and even a little bit of madness… Thanks Leslie!
Finally, we got to the Potter House. The interior was made of quite an eclectic blend materials and decor. We found a table where the 5 of us could fit and had some good coffee and great conversation. Later on that night after the last conference session, we went to hang out at the Rock Bottom Brewery.

Ecclesia is a relational network of missional churches, and leaders who are seeking to revolutionize the idea of church. The Drive for us living in Richmond, VA was only 2 hours - [...]
Lucky Me Warranty
This is what i did to my laptop yesterday:
What happened!? I carelessly closed my notebook without noticing that my wife’s Jack Sparrow “gadget pen” had a small rope bead stuck inside, just enough for me not to notice when i closed it.
I was very fortunate that I purchased the 3 Year Accidental Damage Warranty [...]
Myth: We Only Use 10 Percent of Our Brains
It hadn’t even occurred to me to check whether this was fact or fiction, but as I was flipping through Men’s Health Magazine, a glaring headline stood out: “Myth: We Only Use 10 Percent of Our Brains”. Ever since I can remember, I was always taught as fact that we humans only use 10 percent [...]
What My Parents did for Christmas
My parents did not exactly have the ideal Christmas this year. Neither me nor my brother brought our families home to Texarkana, Texas for reasons beyond our control. This was understandably disheartening especially for my mother, who had not seen her grandson since he was 3 months old. Often when I spoke [...]
